Pontiac School’s finances are stabilized, the structural deficit has been eliminated, our aging school buildings are being upgraded, all teachers have received pay increases, and our School Board works together to make important decisions.

Mike worked in the United States House of Representatives for our Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence, and has a deep understanding of how our government can work better for our neighborhoods.

With five years serving on our Pontiac School Board, including a term as School Board President, Mike has played an active role in improving our Pontiac school district. Finances are stabilized, the structural deficit has been eliminated, our aging school buildings are being upgraded, all teachers have received pay increases, and our School Board works together to make important decisions.

As Executive Director of Oakland County’s Historical Society, Mike has brought the Pontiac community together to learn from and save our community’s history. He runs their Oakland History Center and the Governor Wisner Home on Cesar Chavez Avenue in Pontiac.

When Mike was Chairman of the Pontiac Arts Commission from 2015 to 2019, he brought the Pontiac community together to celebrate our arts and culture. He started the successful Pontiac Arts Crawl in downtown, painted community murals, spotlighted Pontiac musicians, and more.
